for males, females, young and old alike. It is also a wonderful
therapeutic activity used in many social areas to great effect.
Basically, coloured waxes are melted on the low-heat tools
(painting iron and stylus), then applied to a sealed card.
Results are instant and often unbelievable! The wax effects
reveal wonderful 3D abstracts and patterns which are completely
cooled and finished about 10 seconds after the final iron
stroke. Landscapes are almost as effortless. Cross-overs into
fabric painting, rubber stamping and so on are explained in
the book Encaustic Art - How to paint with wax (by Search
Press 1997). |
